The creative characters at the Men's Shed had added some outdoor equipment with an educational twist to the playground at the Step Ahead Early Learning Centre in Thirlmere.
The equipment, which includes a wall hanging structure for tools from the sandpit and a box for storage of outdoor toys, aims to teach the children respect for tidiness and putting things away where they belong.
Creation of the space was supported with a donation of materials from Bunnings Mittagong.
The centre's director Rachel Young was very pleased with the end result and expressed her gratitude to Robert Ellis (Hill Top Men's Shed) for his part in organising the project, and to Abby James (Community Activities Organiser) from Bunnings Mittagong.
"It has been a project a long time coming to fruition" she said.
The Step Ahead Kids Early Learning Centre offers Long Day Care, Before and After School Care and Vacation Care for children from two weeks old to six years old. They are open 51 weeks of the year from 6.30am to 6.00pm.
Step Ahead Kids strive to provide child care that is both educational and fun.
The Hill Top Men's Shed meets every Wednesday from 8.30am to midday.
The Men's Shed provides a safe and happy environment where men enjoy an atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship. They can join for a yarn and a cuppa or to get involved in activities.
