Emperors and Armies

The Australian Haydn Ensemble will delight the audience with a program inspired by eighteenth century leaders and armies including Haydn's Emperor quartet and Military symphony. Boccherini's playful flute quintet 'Las Parejas' will open the season. The title refers to a Spanish horse race in which two horsemen ride hand in hand. The ensemble will also perform Mozart's string quartet 'The First Prussian' which was dedicated to the King of Prussia, Friedrich Wilhelm II. AHE will also present Salomon's compelling chamber arrangement of Haydn's Symphony No. 100 nicknamed The Military. Whacky Wickets

Whacky Wickets is back by popular demand. Whacky Wickets is a social game of cricket on Friday nights for women and girls. There will be food, music and plenty of socialising on the iconic and beautiful outfield of Bradman Oval over six Friday nights. It will be a fun, evenly paced social night of a modified version of cricket, perfect for every level of cricket and for all ages. Whacky Wickets will run on a Friday evening between February 7 and March 13. No experience is necessary. The cost is $10 per week. Award winning Country Music star Gina Jeffreys is ready to rock the Highlands with her first original album in 12 years. To say a lot has happened in Gina's life since she last stood under the spotlight would be an understatement, and the fastest way for you to catch up would be to listen to the lyrics on Gina's long awaited new album 'Beautiful Tangle'. Gina will be joined by her award winning producer and muscian husband Rod McCormack who also produced her latest studio album. Be sure not to miss Australia's Country Music Golden Girl, Gina Jeffreys, as she returns to Mittagong with her full piece band for an unforgettable show. Special guests will include Rod McCormack and Max Jackson. Tickets are $42 for adults and $25 for children 14 and under.

Attend one of the oldest markets in the Southern Highlands. Conveniently located adjacent to the Bowral shopping precinct it operates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. There will be dozens of stalls offer an eclectic selection of quality foods, produce, plants, clothing, jewelry, gifts and more.
