Polar Bears have struck a purple patch since returning for the New Year, recording a good win over Horton's Heroes 6-3.
It took well into the second quarter before either team could assert some dominance. The scores were locked at 0-0 after the first quarter and after exchanging goals early in the second period 1-1 were still even.

Two late Polar Bear goals in the second period allowed them to take a 3-1 lead into the halftime break.
The Polar Bears goalkeeper, Allan Balla, saved a penalty shot right on half-time, which proved to be very significant.
The third period was again tight with Polar Bears edging ahead further after taking it 2-1. The final period saw Horton's Heroes chasing a three-goal deficit.
Polar Bears weren't about to let the Horton's Heroes make a miracle comeback and their defence held strong, despite being out scored 2-1, for the final 6-3 score line.
Dolphins scored an amazing 11-7 win over Sharks in the other A grade match, despite playing a player short.
The Dolphins shocked the Sharks, as they leapt to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
This early break proved to be very decisive, as the Sharks failed to bite into the early lead throughout the last three quarters.
The next three quarters were evenly scored 3-3, 2-2 and 2-2 for the final 11-7 result. Sharks were left to lament their slow start.
In B grade Oxley Gold won 8-5 against Horton's Heroes.
Oxley Gold is developing into a good side. Oxley Gold went out to a 3-1 early lead after the first quarter.
Horton's Heroes bounced back to reverse that by taking the second period 3-1 and locking up the scores at 4-4 at halftime.
The game remained on a knife's edge with both teams scoring a solitary goal in the third quarter.
Locked up at 5-5 going into the last period the game was there for the taking.
It was Oxley Gold who stood up blasting in three final periods to take the match 8-5. Nicholas Milner 2 and Hal Canute 1, were the Oxley saviours.
The experienced Polar Bears 7 defeated the youthful Oxley Blue 1.
Polar Bears ground out their win with two goals in three of the quarters and a solitary goal in the second quarter.
Oxley scored their goal in the third period. Jonny Janz, the Oxley goalie, absorbed a good deal of pressure and played an excellent game.
Jack Hatcher was on fire for Polar Bears scoring five of his team's seven goals.
Smugglers 5 defeated Dolphins 0.
The Smugglers continued their good form and continue to improve each week. Dolphins were safely held through out.
The Country Championships, both Men's and Women's Championships, will be played over the long weekend with games being played at the Frensham Centenary Pool and Mittagong Pools, starting with some fast five games on Saturday afternoon at Mittagong Pool, before the main competition on Sunday and Monday details are on the Southern Highlands website.
