Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens will host Movie Under the Stars on February 15 at the gardens on the corner of Kangaloon and Old South Road, Bowral.
The evening will feature an outdoor screening of Hidden Figures the award-winning story of three African American mathematicians who played a pivotal role in the space program while dealing with racial and gender discrimination.
Gardens' CEO Charlotte Webb said "the Botanic Gardens continues to grow and is part of this wonderful community."
"We are developing the 33 acre site for everyone to enjoy but we wanted to help in our small way to support our local fire sheds that help protect us all in these times of need," Ms Webb said.
"The volunteer firies have - and continue to - done an amazing job to protect people and property from the devastating bushfires across the country and in particular the Wingecarribee Shire.
"We want to support the local volunteers and their fire sheds by raising funds for them to use as required."
The gates will open at the gardens for Movie Under the Stars from 6pm with the movie to screen at dusk at about 8pm.
A tasty, professionally catered picnic box and sweet treat is included in the ticket price of $50 per person.
Bar facilities will also be available and guests are asked to bring their own chair or rug to relax and enjoy the movie.
"These are extraordinary circumstances and this community is well known for its support for others," Ms Webb said.
"We encourage everyone to help us help the local fire services by coming along. We need your help."
