The Currowan fire is burning at a 'Watch and Act' level as of 9:30 am.
A spokesperson for the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee control centre said that containment lines were in place and that aerial drops and aircrafts would be deployed throughout the day for the Green Wattle Creek fire.
The main concern is the winds.
The spokesperson said that the wind speed would pick up quite early in the day. A southerly change is predicted to reach the Highlands at approximately 11 pm with minimal impact.
"The winds are quite sedate for the Currowan fire south of the Southern Highlands," she said.
"However it's not the best for the Green Wattle Creek fire.
"Things can change at any minute."
