Jack received band sixes in Chemistry, Advanced English, Mathematics Extension 1 and Physics.
On receiving his marks and ATAR, Jack said he felt "pretty relieved."
"I was pretty competitive with other people in my cohort and also I hadn't been confident with some of the exams so I was sort of worried about how that would turn out," he said.
"I guess that all ended up working out in the end. I ended up doing better than I thought."
"I'm pretty happy that I had a social life balance as well and got the results that I did."
His family was also happy with Jack's HSC results.
"They've always backed me and supported me," he said.
"They haven't put pressure on me to do well, they've made it very clear that they are happy with whatever I get as long as I am happy with myself and that I've done my best."
Jack hopes to study medicine at the University of Newcastle.
"I want to go in to medicine, I think it's really cool," he said.
"I went to the national youth science forum in January and it helped me figure out what I wanted to do.
"I am hoping to go to the University of Newcastle and study the Doctor of Medicine.
"It's less about the ATAR and more about your interview scores. I went up to do my interview a couple of weeks ago so I should know by January 10."
With his eye on specialising in Neurology, Jack isn't too concerned if his first option doesn't happen.
"I've got early entry to the Australian National University in Canberra to do a Bachelor of Health Science which leads in to medicine.
"It was a bit of help going in to the exams knowing I had something in my back pocket that I could rely on and fall back on if things didn't work out."
Thirty-nine students achieved 68 Band 6 performances at Chevalier College.
Olivia Chambers and Alexander Hall also received high ATAR marks with 96.05 and 97.10 respectively.
