As part of Wingecarribee Shire Council's building upgrade works for the Civic Centre the library will also be given a boost. In order for construction activities to be undertaken safely, a temporary closure of the library is required. The library will close temporarily close from December 21.
Council's chief information officer John Crawford said the new look library would provide users with a larger, more accessible and user-friendly community facility. "We've got big plans for the future of Moss Vale Branch Library," he said. "Included in the works is an additional 60 square metres of space, new shelving, technology, lighting and air-conditioning."
During the temporary closure the Rural Outreach and Delivery Service (ROADS) mobile library service will visit Leighton Gardens between 10am and 4pm each Friday starting January 10, 2020.
"Access to online collections and resources will still be available during the closure period and patrons are encouraged to use the online catalogue to request specific books that can be collected from the mobile library," continued Mr Crawford.
Book returns can be made at Council's Civic Centre located at 68 Elizabeth Street in Moss Vale or anytime at Bowral Central Library or Mittagong Branch Library.
Council thanks residents in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience. Details on the ROADS mobile library service can be viewed online at www.library.wsc.nsw.gov.au/mobile-library.
