The Uniting Target Appeal will collect toys and gifts for families and individuals at the Target Bowral store until the end of December.
Residents are asked to give children's toys, gifts for teenagers or buy a Christmas tree tag to give a financial donation.
Bowral Uniting Church mission development worker Lucy Earl said a small donation could make a big difference to families this Christmas.
"For a lot of families in our area, it can be quite a stressful season," she said.
"There can be a lot of financial and emotional pressures. Little things like a few presents can go a long way to help.

"Let's get on board to support people this Christmas."
The appeal is a partnership between Bowral Uniting Church and Target Bowral.
