A call out has been issued for donations for the volunteers with the NSW Rural Fire Service. As residents brace themselves for the bushfire season, volunteers for the NSW RFS are on the front lines of the Green Wattle Creek fire in the the Wollondilly.

Members of the public would like to show their appreciation for the hard work that the men and women do and have approached volunteers of the NSW RFS with donated items.
To show support to RFS volunteers, the public is asked to donate various items to help sustain the men and women currently fighting fires.
The list includes:
- Bottled Water
- Protein bars
- Electrolyte drinks such as Gatorade, Powerade and Hydralyte
- Hydralyte ice blocks
- Packets of nuts
- Chips
- Fruit
- Protein Shakes
- Wet wipes
People who would like to help are asked to drop donations off at several NSW RFS stations in the Wingecarribee Shire on December 11 and 18 between 6 pm and 8 pm. The members of the NSW RFS are thankful for the continued community support during the bush fire season.
NSW RFS locations in the Wingecarribee Shire include Alpine, Avoca, Balmoral Village, Berrima, Bundanoon, Burrawang, Canyonleigh, Colo Vale, Exeter, Hill Top, Mandemar, Wingecarribee Support, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Penrose, Robertson, Wingello, Wollodilly, Woodlands and Yerrinbool.
Berrima RFS media liaison Jenny Cavanagh said the support from community was fantastic. "The support has been overwhelming," she said. "We have volunteers on the front line of the Green Wattle Creek Fire and working behind the scenes."
