The sight was not lost on reporter Vera Demertzis who said she had been waiting several weeks to snap this picture of the birds feeding on a shrub in her back yard.

This colourful, boisterous and noisy parrot is well-known in Australia. It visits suburban gardens to feed on flower nectar and fruits.
The Rainbow Lorikeet is found in a wide range of treed habitats including rainforest and woodlands, as well as in well-treed urban areas.
