A taxi operator has spoken out about a popular ride-share service's impending arrival.

Southern Highlands Taxis' Laurie Stewart said he was "not particularly concerned" about Uber entering the market next week.
"We have massive number of account clients and regulars that we've looked after for last 20 years," Mr Stewart said.

Mr Stewart said there were several regulations taxis had to adhere to for the safety of passengers.
"Taxis have cameras in them, which they have to have by regulation," he said.
"It's also inspected by regulation to make sure the cameras are working."
Bowral residents will be able to use the Uber app to request a driver from the first week of December.
The news has come after the company announced it would expand to an additional nine towns across regional NSW.
Other destinations include Berry, Casino, Cessnock, Grafton, Maitland, Nowra, Singleton and Ulladulla.
