Bowral residents will be able to use the Uber app to request a driver from the first week of December.
The news has come after the company announced it would expand to an additional nine towns across regional NSW.
Other destinations include Berry, Casino, Cessnock, Grafton, Maitland, Nowra, Singleton and Ulladulla.
Southern Highlands residents have previously had to travel to areas such as Wollongong and Camden to earn money as a driver through the Uber service.
Mittagong-based Uber driver Tim Driessen welcomed the opportunity to drive for the service in the local area.
"It'll be good for the area, good for me and closer to my family," Mr Driessen said.
The regulations and accreditation process for becoming an Uber driver partner in NSW costs around $95 and takes a week.
"The efficient process is appealing to teachers or tertiary students who want to earn extra cash during the holidays, retirees who need to top up their superannuation, or people who are between jobs," Uber Australia and New Zealand general manager Dom Taylor said.
"The average wait time for an Uber in Australia is just five minutes. While we anticipate wait times in regional NSW will be longer at first, we expect them to reduce as more local drivers discover what 63,000 driver partners in Australia are already benefiting from - the flexibility of earning on the Uber app."
More to come.
