A spokesperson from NSW Rural Fire Service said the best way to help those in need was to give money.
"This allows people to buy the things they need, and support the local businesses that have also been impacted. Please do not donate physical items such as food and clothing as these take up much needed community spaces," they said.
More than 1300 Lions clubs across the country, including the Highlands, have rallied to support the cause.
