Mr Barnes said he wanted to give back to the Southern Highlands community for Christmas with a concert on December 15.
The intimate semi-acoustic performance will deliver new songs and all the hits.
The singer said said he liked doing small intimate shows as he could look into the audience's eyes and gauge their reaction from each word sung.
"It's going to be a lot of fun," he said.
Up Close and Personal will be a family affair, with Barnsey's daughters Elly-May and EJ, wife Jane, son Jackie and son-in-law Ben Rodgers all playing an important role in the performance.
The Berrima resident said he felt blessed to share the experience with his family.
"For the last few years my kids have been an integral part of the band."
Concert-goers won't be disappointed with Mr Barnes set to give a standout performance and rock the night away.
"Music is about bringing joy to people, you've got to get up there and make them connect with something else inside themselves, and to do that with your family and to share that with an audience is pretty special," Mr Barnes said.
"I'm not up here trying to be a celebrity or a pop star I'm a singer and my job is to bring joy to people and connect with people.
"Everybody knows that when I get up there to perform I have a great time doing it."

The vibe at The Loch will be akin to popping round to a neighbour's place for a backyard bash.
The atmosphere is sure to turn electric once the musicians take to the stage and belt out iconic hits.
The stalwart of Australian rock aims to give 120 per cent on the night and provide the audience with what they want.
"You have to let your audience think no matter what night it is, it's Saturday night," Mr Barnes said.
He said during the performance the audience had to forget their troubles, forget where they were, go on a journey and have a great time.
"I learnt that with [Cold Chisel] and it's the same way I've treated my solo career.
"If you're playing intimate shows a lot of people like stuff like Wait or Flame Trees."
The experienced musician said there was a bunch of significant songs that had meant something to a lot of people over the years.
The Loch has done away with table seating, in favour of sumptuous Hampton lounge chairs, to bring concert-goers even closer to the stage. All seating is numbered and designated with ticketing.
Gates open at 4pm with a complimentary drink on arrival. The performance will commence from 5:30pm with wine and food throughout the evening.
A selection of craft beer and wine from the region will be available as well as a variety of cocktails.
Catering stations will serve a variety of delicious food, from dumplings and duck pancakes to tasting plates and a carvery with salads.
Tickets are $195 with a maximum of 280 available.
