Tony Oakes and Gordon Lewis defeated Bill Pope and Bill Meredith 17-15 in the match of the day.
After nine ends Oakes and Lewis were cruising along in front 13-4.
Pope and Meredith then started to get into the encounter and after scoring eight shots on three ends only trailed 13-12.
After 14 ends Oakes and Lewis had taken their lead to 16-12.
Pope and Meredith displayed great accuracy to keep the pressure on.

But Oakes and Lewis held on to a very tight two shot win.
Other results:
- Joel Hunt and Robin Staples defeated Kel Limbrick don Coleman 27-19.
- Keith Edwards, Tom de Greewul and Mick Flynn defeated Harold Wall, Richard Denman and Kevin Gould 22-15.
- Barry Werfel and David Coltman defeated John Cummins and Dennis Beatty 19-15.
In other club news bowls secretary Dan Ticehurst has programmed the semifinals of the club senior singles for November 13.
This will begin at 1pm.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, November 17 the final of the mixed pairs round robin will be held.
This will begin at 11am.
This will involve Sylvia Handley and Kevin Stafford against Shile Brown and Harold Wall.
