The series of four open days will take place across the first two weekends in November, giving community members the opportunity to learn more about the closure and activity already underway.

Boral team members involved with the closure plan will be on site and available to discuss questions as well as share further information on the process.

There will also be informational graphics, maps and video resources on display, offering community members further insight into the processes and ongoing work underway at the Colliery.

A spokesperson for Boral said the community engagement days have been designed to give the Berrima community an opportunity to clearly understand the plans and speak directly with the Boral team.

"Boral is heavily committed to providing the local people of Berrima and its surrounding areas with information on the work taking place at Berrima Colliery," they said.

"These days are important for Boral as they give us the opportunity to discuss this project directly with the local community and listen to their questions, concerns and thoughts.

"We encourage all local community members to attend and share their thoughts and questions with our Boral representatives."

The announcement of the community engagement days come after the launch of a dedicated microsite for the Berrima Colliery in September.

The microsite has been designed to serve as a central hub for regular updates on the closure process as well as provide an easy way for the community to sign-up for regular updates.

The Community Engagement Days will be held at the Berrima Anglican Church Hall between 10am and 12pm on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 November, and Friday 8 and Saturday 9 November.

There is no cost or pre-registration required to attend and everyone in the community is welcome.
