President of Moss Vale Soccer Club Krystal Meindl said that she began running the competition as there was nothing else for juniors once the winter season was over.
"It's the only summer soccer competition in the Southern Highlands," she said.
"It's been absolutely successful, last year was huge.
"But we have noticed that participation has dropped this year.
"The senior competition has run for 10 years.
"That's really popular. We might need to split it because there are so many teams on the waiting list."
There are only four players on the field for summer soccer for players in u6/u7 and u8/u9, while there are six players in the u10/11 and u12/14.
The junior summer competition for players between u6 - u14 runs every Wednesday night at Church Road playing fields.
The senior summer soccer competition runs on Monday nights.
