The last meeting for the Southern Highlands Parkinson's Support Group for 2019 will be held on November 19 in the Springs Room, Mittagong RSL 10.00am for 10.30am start. The guest speaker will be Nicole Pace of Service NSW. The Christmas function will be on December 11 at the RSL. Tickets are to be booked and paid for by December 1. Cent afternoon
Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary will hold its final fundraiser for the year on November 11. This will take the form of a Cent Afternoon from 1.30pm at the Senior Citizen's Centre in Queen Street, Moss Vale. There will also be a trading table and the Christmas raffle will be drawn.
CWA meeting
The Bowral Branch of CWA will hold its next meeting on November 12 at 1.30 pm. New members and guests are welcome to join the congenial atmosphere. Afternoon tea will be served following the meeting. This will be held at the CWA rooms, 40 Wingecarribee Street, Bowral, (adjacent to Corbett Gardens). Details: Secretary on 4861 5425.
Classic film fundraiser
Australian Conservation Foundation is looking back in time to raise funds and awareness for the future. The national environment organisation will present an old classic in a fundraising movie night on November 27. An independent, non-partisan organisation ACF advocates clean air and water and for a world forests, rivers, people and wildlife can thrive. Its work is entirely funded by donations. The Highlands community will have the chance to show support for the organisation and take a journey back in time when Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kids screens at the Empire Cinemas. The movie night will open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. Tickets are $25 which includes light refreshments. Tickets are available at thecinema box office or louise.egerton0@gmail.com
Biographers ready to go

Morning tea
Every Friday morning between 10am and midday the foyer of the Mittagong Anglican Church is open to the public for free morning tea. The church's professional barista knows how to make one of the best coffees in town. A professional counsellor offering free support is also available. Come and join the group and make new friends in a relaxed and warm environment. St. Stephens Church is on the corner of Station and Main Streets and has been reaching out to the community for more than 140 years.
Busy Bees
Mittagong Uniting Church Busy Bees preschool playgroup is held in the church hall each Friday morning from 10am to noon. Everyone with little people are welcome to join the group.
English lessons
Free English lessons are now on offer each Thursday at the Moss Vale Presbyterian Church. The lessons are for those keen to learn English as their second language. They will be held from 1.30pm to 2-30pm. Details: 0451 234 323.
Bereavement support
Southern Highlands Bereavement Care Service Suicide Bereavement Support Group is held on the first Tuesday of each month. This is facilitated by bereavement counsellors Donna and Jo-Anne. This group will be ongoing and held from 6.30pm to 8.00pm each month in Bowral. If you are living with grief after the suicide death of a family member or friend, you are encouraged to come along to the group. Meetings are held at in Bowral at a location yet to be advised. Scottish dance
Would you like to learn more and improve your balance, stimulate your mind, enjoy the music and learn jigs, reels and strathspeys? Southern Highlands Scottish Dancers are keen to share their skills with others. All dances are walked through first and new dancers are welcome. The group meets at Moss Vale Uniting Church hall each Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. A fee of $6 is charged and a light supper is provided. Do you enjoy dancing or would you like to learn to dance? Here's a great opportunity not to be missed. Dance your way around the world with folk dances taught in easy steps. Seniors' Club
Mittagong Seniors' Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2.30pm at the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong. Come for morning tea at 10am to learn more. Activities include craft, games, ukulele and various outings.
Line dancing
Mittagong Seniors Club has introduced a new option for getting fit while having fun. Line dancing classes will be held at the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong, each Tuesday from 11am. New members are welcome and membership is $10 a year and $3 a day.
Gentle exercise
A program offering gentle exercise at a gentle pace with a focus on mobility, physical and mental stimulation is available each Thursday at the Bowral Presbyterian Church hall in Bendooley Street, Bowral. Classes are from 11.45am-12.30pm. Details: Margaret 0466 166 866 or 4861 2294.
Bushwalk
Southern Highlands Bushwalkers Inc will tackle Missingham Steps on November 17. This will include a walk down the steps, a rock hop down river to a great swimming pool then later in the day return via steps.
