On November 1, students and teachers came to school in dresses to raise money for 'Do it in a Dress'.
'Do it in a Dress' is a campaign that calls on everyone to put on a school dress to raise funds and awareness for girls' education in Africa.
This year Moss Vale High School raised $1320 for the charity, with $650 dollars raised by gold coin donation by everyone who wore a dress and the rest of the money raised by community fundraising.
School Captains Taylah and Allie said that they were proud to fundraise for the charity.
"It's raising funds for girls in third world countries who don't have the right to an education," said Taylah.
"We send all the money to the charity and they give supplies, build schools and send teachers over to make sure girls are getting educated."
"They supply dresses, sanitary items. Most girls in developing counties, when they get their period they stop going to school because it's not always sanitary," said Allie.
"We are fortunate to go to a school like Moss Vale High [School] and we don't our education for granted."
