Local volunteers wishing to lend a hand in support of RMHC can form a Bucket Brigade and join forces to encourage residents to give generously and make McHappy Day the biggest year yet.
Residents wishing to pledge their support to the cause can visit their local McDonald's restaurant for more information.
As the largest annual fundraiser for RMHC Australia nationally, McHappy Day is instrumental in raising funds for the charity, which helps keep families together while their seriously ill child undergoes treatment. Since its inception in Australia in 1991, McHappy Day has raised more than $46 million for RMHC.
With more ways to donate than ever before, Bowral residents can also show their support for McHappy Day by:
Buying a Big Mac from McDonald's on Saturday 16th November with $2 from every Big Mac sold going directly to RMHC.
Picking-up a pair of $5 Silly Socks or a Helping Hand for $2, $10 or $50 at your local Macca's (available from 27th October).
- Last year, funds raised from McHappy Day in New South Wales helped provide:
- More than 85,100 nights of accommodation for over 2,600 families
- More than 630 students a week received tutoring through The Ronald McDonald Learning Program
- More than 19,600 families spent quality time together in a Ronald McDonald Family Room
McHappy Day donations fund programs including Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, the Ronald McDonald Learning Program and the Ronald McDonald Family Retreats.
