In the first half of the match Staples and Holmwood dominated the play having a 15- 6 lead after 11 ends.
Then McPhee and Forrester started to put some spark into their play.

With the game in the balance, before Staples and Holmwood showed their class both players played perfect draw shots to hold six shots.
Skipper Forrester decided to have a on shot and brought of the seemingly impossible shot and cut the score down to one shot.
Then Forrester did the unbelievable.
After playing such a great bowl the play previously to make his team only one down and the importance of not going for another shot, he again had an on shot and took his own bowl out and gave away seven shots on the end.
Ironically McPhee and Forrester scored two shots on the last end, but the the game was over. It was full of praise to Staples and Holmwood who were clever enough to show how to close out a close finish.

This was a surprise victory and the winners had no worry in the match.
