Kensington resident Anthony William Peter Caruana, 77, was in Moss Vale Local Court for a first appearance and mention on Tuesday, October 8.
Police will allege that between 1982 and 1989, the Catholic priest indecently assaulted 11 children at a Burradoo boarding institution, committing 27 offences in total.
Mr Caruana remained silent when reporters asked him questions outside of the court.
The prosecution will prepare evidence by November 19 and the case will return to Moss Vale Local Court on December 3.
