Bowral & District Hospital general manager Ken Barnett said the 2020 Centenary Scholarship was valued at $1000 a year for up to four years.
"The scholarship is a great way to connect with the next generation of our community," he said.
"The calibre of applicants each year has been outstanding. I suspect this year will be no different."
It was established in 1989 by Bowral & District Hospital staff to acknowledge the assistance the hospital has received from the local community.
"It is wonderful to see the next generation of healthcare workers coming through the ranks," Mr Barnett said.
Bundanoon's Jasmine McIntosh was named this year's Centenary Scholarship recipient. Having always wanted to be a nurse, because she likes to care for people, the former Chevalier College student started her first year of nursing at University of Wollongong this year.
She said the financial support had alleviated a bit of the financial burden during her university years.
The scholarship allowed Miss McIntosh to buy all the resources she needed.
Applications close on Friday 22 November and interviews will be held in January 2020.
