Held in honour of National Police Remembrance Day, the Police Ball will help raise much needed funds to increase outreach program for kids in the Southern Highlands.
The night will feature a gymnastic routine performed by the students at Southern Highlands PCYC and a guest speaker who will talk about his time at PCYC.
The guest speak speaker is a former case management kid who went through the program and is now gainfully employed.
PCYC Southern Highlands clum manager Krischan Keller said that the PCYC is not just about the outreach programs they offer but also sports and recreation.
"It's full circle in what we offer. We are fully inclusive," he said.
"[The guest speaker] is a the reality of a lot people who follow the program, this is just one example showing the different layers of the PCYC."
Councillor Larry Whipper, chair of the combined PCYC Wingecarribee Shire and Wollondilly shire working group, said that hearing success stories was important, noting that the community fought hard for the PCYC to come to the Highlands.
"We have seen so much difference in the people who have engaged with the program," he said.
"It validates the need for community support."
The Police Ball will be a fun filled evening with local bands and singers performing on the night. There will be a silent and live auction with sporting memorabilia and more available on the night. Tickets can be purchased via eventbrite by September 20 and cost $150 per person.
Ticket includes canapes, a two course dinner and drinks. Attire is formal wear.
