The Lions had three teams make the Grand Finals and all three teams claimed premierships, 13Bs, 15/16s and 16 Girls.
13Bs Mittagong v Camden Red
The boys faced their arch rivals Camden Red who they battled with all season. They were fantastic right from the start scoring first. They were in control for the whole game with some fantastic work displayed by Jye Crisp Jack Anderson and Adam Laali.
They came away with a 26-10 Victory in the end with Mittagong's Adam Laali picking up the man of the match award.
15/16As Moss Vale v Mittagong
This was clearly the match of the day. It was the grudge match the Southern Highlands always wanted and they were not let down with the Mittagong Lions v Moss Vale Dragons.
Support for both teams came in huge numbers, with the noise during the game giving the ground a true grand final atmosphere.
The boys again like the 13Bs started well with a early try to Ethan Youkhana our wide. The defence was phenomenal and brutal.
The forwards gave it to each other with Mittagong going up another gear. Their game plan of being more dominant and physical especially in the middle payed off.
Matt Parkes, Sam Skenfield and Harri Philiips were very tough in defence, while Kyle Murphy, Beau Bond and Luke Betts gave the opposition plenty of headaches with energy and smart clinical football.
The boys led 8-4 at halftime and went on to win the local derby 22-4 with a demanding victory.
Ethan Youkhana was named man of the match for the Lions in a real classy performance.
The Lions went on to win back to back premierships. This is the first time in over 10 years that this has been accomplished by an international team in the club, which was a fantastic achievement.
And last but not least, our sweethearts of the Lions Den.
16GLT Mt Annan v Mittagong
After a few wonderful wins against Narellan and Thirlmere the girls were peaking at the right time to claim their first ever girl's premiership for the club and they didn't let the mighty club down.
Right from the whistle blown the Lions were in control with Asher Buflin and Emma Keeley putting the young Lions on the front foot.
Ebony Monro made some crucial defence plays while Ezter Haag and Holly Bennett were very vital around the teams spine in attack and with their line speed in the defence.
The Lions led 12-0 at halftime and didn't take the foot off the pedal. They went on to win a convincingly 24-0 game against the Knights and gabe the club its third premiership.
Ebony Monro was Awarded lady of the game for the Lions.
Three Grand Finals for three Premierships for this mighty club, a true reflection of the character leadership and commitment within the club to get all these teams up in 2019 competitions.
