Residents are asked review their bushfire survival plans with their families, keep informed, monitor conditions and be ready to act if necessary.
The RFS has also suspended fire permits.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the forecast for Thursday in the Southern Highlands is mostly sunny with a 20 per cent chance of a shower this afternoon and evening.
Westerly winds 30 to 45 km/h are also possible, decreasing to 20 to 25 km/h in the evening then becoming light in the late evening.
