The 'Benton Battle' saw 70 teams of two compete in five events which tested their fitness and strength, with exercises such as sled pulls, barbell and dumbbell work, sandbag runs, toes to bars, wall ball throws, skipping and rowing.
Many spectators watched the event at Braemar, near Bunnings, with a DJ laying motivating music and food stalls available. A large number of Benton Gym members helped run and judge the event.
Benton Gym owner, Ben Garard, said the aim of the 'Battle of Benton' was to celebrate the sport of fitness and inspire people to be their best.
"It was so heartening to see so many people of all ages - both competitors and spectators - descend on our gym to celebrate the amazing capabilities of our minds and bodies and to aspire to be as healthy and fit as possible," he said.
"Exercise is vital at any age and our aim at the event was to highlight its vital importance to our wellbeing."
The winning teams in the three major divisions, each taking home cash prizes, were:
- Females - Tiffany Chapman and Haidee Lynch
- Males - Kurtis Jackson and Luke De Jonge
- Mixed- Dylan McGregor and Abby Marmont
