In 2016 Mackenzie was diagnosed with cancer. After more than two years of treatment she beat the beast. Now, she's raising awareness and funds so no child will have to go through the same experience.
The student at Bowral High School is the ambassador for Dare for a Cure.
On September 6 more than 90 CEOs and business leaders stepped out of their comfort zone and completed dares to raise money for cancer research.
Dares included snake baths, bug-eating, fire and glass walking, and ice baths.
Getting into the spirit of the event, Mackenzie and her sister Jordan took on the trapeze and their mother Errin got a tattoo. So far this year the family has raised $2010 to help find a cure.
