Michael will be based in our region focusing on building a stronger appreciation of and ability to support contemporary music in regional NSW.
"I've seen first hand how much enthusiasm there is for great music in regional NSW," said Michael.
"Sometimes it can be hard for venues and artists to connect, and I feel excited to have the opportunity to help bring people together so they can make amazing things happen."
Southern Tablelands Arts has offered Michael and Music NSW our support.
Canberra-born artist Michael Simic has built a substantial recording and touring career over 20 years under his moniker of Mikelangelo.
He has released 11 independent albums and performed sold out shows at music venues, theatres and majors arts and music festivals through Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe, Canada and the US.
Now based in Majors Creek NSW with his wife Rose and their daughter Sunny, he splits his time between being a husband and father, a writer and performer, and a mentor and champion of local music.
Are you interested in music? Own a live music venue? Are you a musician? An audience member? A teacher? A promoter? A manager?
Music NSW will want to meet you!
We encourage you to join Michael at a meet and greet in Goulburn 6pm on September 24 at the Goulburn Club. RSVP https://tinyurl.com/yy4bbgga
