KFC and Domino's Pizza have expressed interest in opening restaurants in Moss Vale.
KFC has a development application (DA) before Wingecarribee Shire Council to build a restaurant on lot two of 229 Argyle Street.
If approved, the new restaurant building will occupy the northern part of the site and will provide 32 indoor seats.

A drive through and takeaway food service will be located along the southern and western sides of the building with advance ordering and queuing provision.
Parking for 16 cars will be provided along the eastern side of the restaurant.
A traffic and parking assessment was also prepared as a part of the DA process to help assess the impact on congestion.
Meanwhile a Domino's Pizza will open next door to the Mobil service station at 225 Argyle Street in the existing vacant commercial premises.
Domino's franchisee Sovit Nakarmi is opening a store in Moss Vale between November and December.
The opening date will be confirmed towards the end of the year.
Sovit is also the franchisee at Domino's Woonona and is "incredibly excited to become part of the local community at Moss Vale later this year".
Sovit is looking to hire an entire local team of about 30 team members, including store managers, drivers and in-store staff.
He will begin the hiring drive in October, about one month before the store opens.
Information about job vacancies can be found on the Domino's Jobs website and through flyers in the neighbouring Mobil service station.
"We can't wait to open in Moss Vale and deliver piping hot pizzas to the local community," Sovit said.
"We plan to employee a full team of young local staff who are passionate about pizza to work in our store.
"We love the idea of giving back to the community."
KFC was contacted for comment.
