"I had the opportunity of purchasing this practice from a highly-respected equine vet in 1999 after returning to Australia. We love Bowral and the Southern Highlands and thought it was the ideal place to raise our family," Karim said.
Along with him at the practice are six qualified staff members. A vet, administrator, nurse and stable hand provide all equine veterinary needs with a special interest in reproduction.
This includes Artificial Insemination (AI) both chilled and frozen, semen collection and freezing and foal care.
"In addition we provide a comprehensive range of services including general health care, 24-hour emergency service, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and dental care," Karim said.
"As we are an equine-only practice and we have the experience and knowledge gained over numerous years looking after horses. Customer service and communication is our main priority."
Karim said the equine veterinary field was evolving and the advances in assisted reproduction and endocrinology and aged horse care were extremely positive and rewarding.
To carry out these roles, vets have had years of training and experience to be able to diagnose and treat animals correctly as required.
"We can work together with farriers and chiropractors and other horse health providers to obtain the best outcome for the horse and client."
"I enjoy everything about working in this community and have known a lot of my clients for many, many years."
Karim and his staff are actively involved in the Southern Highland's community
They sponsor many local events such as the Bowral Show and attend community events such as Wingello Endurance Ride.
Karim also takes university veterinary students on placements and high school students for work experience. His valuable expertise is also shared with the many talks he gives, sharing his knowledge on his special interest of equine reproduction and AI.
