Four firefighting crews were called to a single-level home on Noongah Street about 10.10am on Wednesday, July 24.
A Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) spokeswoman said large volumes of smoke were billowing from the house.
The spokeswoman said firefighters switched off the home's electricity and gas supply before working to extinguish the fire.
"The fire originated in the kitchen and spread into the roof," she said.
Two FRNSW and two NSW Rural Fire Service crews took about 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The house was then ventilated to get rid of the smoke and make sure the property was fire safe.
Police and NSW Ambulance crews also attended the scene.
It is unsure how the blaze began but no-one was home at the time.
The fire completely destroyed the kitchen and caused smoke damage throughout the house.
