On Saturday, July 20 at the Bowral Bowling Club a historic moment took place when for the first time a Big Buddy Tournament took place.
This is a very exciting tournament that is played round the region with the winners gaining entry to the main event with prize money being very substantial and gives all teams a chance to qualify.
From Saturday the following places as follows:
- 1st Rhys Spiten, Joel Holden and Chris Barrett -Eyles from Canberra.
- 2nd Dave Coltman, Alistair McGhee and Dennis Beatty from Bowral
- 3rd Mick Frost, Rob Johnson and Graham Tutt from Robertson.
- 4th Keith Edwards, Brian Porter and Rita South from Bowral
- 5th Bob Crowley, Dan Ticehurst and Nathan Boyers from Bowral
- 6th Mick Flynn, Carl Spilker and Robin Staples from Bowral.
Together we can all be better bowlers.

The match of the day was Joel Hunt, Don Coleman and Rick Reynolds defeated Jack Hunt, Paul Rubie and Gordon Lewis 23-22.
This match was a good battle from start to finish and at the half way mark team Lewis had a 16-10 lead they extended this to 19-12 after 14 ends.
Team Reynolds reduced this at a rapid pace and after 18 ends had hit the front 21-19.
This brought them back into the match and at the finish won by the tiny margin of one shot.
Neville Tanner and Bob Edwards defeated Chris Forrester and Ashley Lewis 23-11
Owen Williams and Bill Meredith defeated Ted McPhee and Peter Watson 22-15.
Club news
Coaching the club has several coaches who will assist players in hints and suggestions like all of us little kinks get in our game. Together we can all be better bowlers.
Newcomers in particular are encouraged to ask the club coaches for guidance.Bowlers please note to take time to check the etiquette of bowls Often we forget this component of our game.
Social bowls are played on Wednesday and Saturday afternoon. Wednesday the dress is mufti while Saturday the dress is pennant uniform or whites. Both days games commence at 1.00pm. Visitors are welcome to join these games.
