Graham Hunt and Bob Edwards defeated Kevin Stafford and Carl Spilker 28-17 in a upset win to go to the top after week three of the Moss Vale Motor Group Challenge.
After eight ends Stafford and Spilker were in control by a margin of one shot 10-9.
At that stage they appeared to have the edge on Hunt and Edwards.
But from then on without question Hunt and Edwards started to play top bowls and the shots they played were exactly on target.
This display at the finish gave them a 11 shot victory and the place of top of the leader board.
Robin Staples and Mike Holmwood defeated Don Weller and Keith Edwards 31-30.
To win the $100 for the day with the winning margin.
After 11 ends Weller and Edwards held a 22-17 lead .
Weller and Edwards were the underdogs would never go away but the game changed on the 18th end when Staples and Holmwood picked up six shots to give them a 29-28 lead.
Holmwood and Staples just held on at the finish to win by one shot.
Other results:
- Kel Limbrick and Dave Riddell defeated Bill Meredith and Gordon Lewis 23-21.
- Bill Pope and John Cummins defeated Ken Looke and Brian Payne 29-10
- Joe O'Donnell and Bob Crowley defeated John Edmonds and Don Coleman 23-14.
- Brian Porter and Ted McPhee defeated Dan Ticehurst and Nathan Boyers 22-16.
- Richard Denman and Mick Flynn defeated Jim Starkey and Barry Werfel 27-15.
Manager Brett Wardle from Moss Vale Motor Group presented the game winners with a cheque.
After round three the first four teams being:
- Graham Hunt and Bob Edwards 83 shots.
- Bill Pope and John Cummins 79 shots.
- Richard Denman and Mick Flynn 74 shots.
- Robin Staples and Mike Holmwood 72 shots.

Any funds of the bowral bowling men's section in excess of the reasonably foreseeable needs of that section shall, upon request be paid to the club limited and become part of the general funds of the club limited.
Social bowls are played on Wednesday and Saturday afternoon. Wednesday the dress is mufti while Saturday the dress is pennant uniform or whites. Both days games commence at 1.00pm.
