A staff locked up the Robertson Public School canteen at the school at about 3pm on Friday, July 5 in preparation for the school holiday period.
Southern Highlands Police officer-in-charge Inspector John Klepczarek said during the break unknown people gained entry through a side door and took several items.
The incident was estimated to have occurred at about 10am on Friday, July 12.
"Once inside it looks like the persons have rummaged through the school canteen and helped themselves to assorted food items," Inspector Klepczarek said.
"We're looking at some fruit juices, chips and gelato.
"If anyone has noticed some young people consuming a lot of those types of food, please contact police."
