General duty police officers pulled the woman over for a random breath test on Bong Bong Street in Bowral just after 1am on Sunday.
Police allege the woman had a blood alcohol content reading of .116, which fell into the mid-range category.
The driver was issued with a licence suspension notice and a court attendance notice.
Southern Highlands Police acting officer-in-charge Inspector Todd Holborow said police had drinking driving in their sights.
"Police will continue to target back streets and all hours of the night as was in this instance," Inspector Holborow said.
"If you intend to consume alcohol, have a plan B in place so there's no temptation to drive a motor vehicle."
The driver will appear in Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday, August 20.
