Pippa knows how to stand up and be bold - in career, business, relationships and life.
In her new book Bold Moves Pippa shares the story of the company's founder, Pippa's great aunt, who fled war-torn Europe to start a beauty company.
Pippa opens up about the story behind Ella Bache and its changes over the decades. She also shares personal advice gleaned from her own journey as CEO and mother of two.
How have the women in your life inspired you?
There have been many women who have inspired me throughout my journey but there is of course one who plays a very large role; growing up in a family business I was led by female role models like Madame Ella Bache.
I learnt that business is about hard work, tenacity, being yourself and following your passions.
She created her own management style and it wasn't all spreadsheets and strategies - it came from the heart.
What advice do you have for other women wanting to advance their career?
Keep showing up - some days might feel longer and tougher than others but keep your mind focused.
Find someone who can advise and mentor you throughout your career.
Everyone's journey is different and some can feel lonely at times - particularly when you're a female CEO - it's important to realise it doesn't have to be.
What are your thoughts on juggling motherhood and a career?
My biggest lesson and piece of advice rolled into one is that you can't try and do it all.
It's so important to create a network of supportive people around you. I think as women we're all so quick to judge one another when really, we are all in this together.
In my case, my husband and I share the load at work and home.
As a working mum, I couldn't then be expected to do every single thing at home.
It's about balancing your roles out evenly. It's all about building yourself a support system and asking for help when you need it.
What would you like people to take away from your book?
I aim to encourage people to go out of their comfort zone no matter what level of their career they are at - it's the best place to learn; as long as you never stop trusting yourself.
In this day and age women need to be bold leaders; there are not as many women at the top of companies as CEOs as there should be and I hope to see a major shift in the dynamics.
Pippa Hallas will speak about her book at Centennial Vineyards Restaurant, Bowral at 6:30pm on July 4.
Tickets are $50 per person which includes one course and a glass of wine.
Tickets available from The Bookshop Bowral.
All profits from Bold Moves will go to the Cherish Cancer Foundation, in honour of Pippa's mother.
