It was a sacred day at Chevalier College as they officially opened the Multipurpose Hall and Performing Arts Centre and celebrated Sacred Heart Day.

Students, staff, alumni, parents and dignitaries were on hand to celebrate mass with with the school.
Eleven years of saving and planning have culminated in a new contemporary Multipurpose Hall and a refurbished and expanded Performing Arts Centre, which was wholly funded by Chevalier College.
The day began with a celebratory mass, followed by an official welcoming ceremony.
Chevalier College principal Chris McDermott said that a school should be able to teach kids regardless of a fancy building, but the that the buildings were "icing on the cake."
"The new buildings honours the past and meeting the demands of the present and looking forward to what will come," he said.
He also thanked the wider community for their support.
The new Multipurpose Hall and Performing Arts Centre are available to members of the community, with the Performing Arts Centre heavily booked already this year by outside groups from across the state and within the Southern Highlands.
College captain Molly Good thanked the community and school board on behalf of the student body.
"I would, on behalf of the student body, offer our thanks and appreciation to all involved with the design and construction of these facilities. They are truly a wonderful addition to our school and they add to the defining landmark of the Highlands we call Chev," she said.
Chevalier College Board also expressed it's appreciation to the amazing work undertaken by JDH Architects and builders, Grindley Construction.
