The NSW woman held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 3881.
Each entry took home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
Confirming her prize with a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon, the woman revealed she had no idea she'd been holding onto a million-dollar entry.
"I've probably been buying tickets for 50 years but I never ever thought I'd win the lottery," she said.
"This is something that you dream of.
"It's just unbelievable. It certainly hasn't sunk in. I can't come to grips with the news."
The generous grandmother said she'd use her prize to give big.
"I've got kids and plenty of grandchildren to spoil. I'll be able to help set them up a little bit that's for sure," she said.
"And I will be supporting some local charities. I'm pretty well set up myself but if I can help others then that's the best thing."
The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased her marked entry at Moss Vale Newsagency, 19 Clarence Street, Moss Vale.
Moss Vale Newsagency owner David Reid said he was thrilled to have sold the outlet's 21st division one winning entry.
"We were busy on the counter this morning and a staff member told me that one of our customers won a million dollars," he said.
"I thought it was great. Great for us and exciting for our customer.
"Wins like this always create a buzz. We've been spreading the word this morning."
Mr Reid said the store was known as the lucky Moss Vale newsagency because they had sold so many winning tickets.
"We wish our winner a big congratulations and I hope they enjoy their prize."
In 2018, Monday and Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
