We see that every time we have an event at Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens.
Kids run, jump, do cartwheels and play in the mud.
We want them to enjoy SHBG, and we want their parents to come to our gardens and use this splendid open space.
It's a community garden, to be used by the community.
Included in the design of the garden is a playground, and we are applying for a NSW grant under My Community Project to install the initial element of the playground.
My Community Project invites the public to vote for projects they support, and the project with the most votes wins the grant.
Voting will take place from mid July to mid August.
Our playground will be suitable for small children of all abilities.
The high quality equipment will stimulate kids to climb, play alone or in a group, take risks and be challenged.
This inclusive playground also caters for parents and grandparents, with easy access, good seating, shade, nearby parking and within walking distance for those living nearby.
The garden is now open Wednesday to Friday between 9am to 4pm, but will open every day when we have a playground.
My Community Project allows all people over the age of 16 to vote for their favourite project, and we ask everyone living in the Wollondilly electorate to support our botanic garden by voting for this project in July.
Voting opens on July 15, and will close on August 15.
You'll be able to vote online or at your nearest Service NSW Centre.
More information on voting and our project will be available when voting is open. So please keep an eye out.
