The fabulous clothing available at Twisting Vintage.
Last September, Ladies in Black hit the big screen with a splash and became the highest grossing Australian film for 2018.
Based on the Madeline St John novel the film had a great story, social commentary, likable characters and great fashion, some of which were sourced from the Mittagong store.
The film's costume designer, Wendy Cork, was in the Southern Highlands visiting her aunt when the shop Twisting Vintage caught her eye.
Owner and long-time resident, Gillian Herne, produced the goods and supplied some of the most iconic outfits from the film.
Gillian was heavily relied upon to provide jewelry, gloves, hats and accessories and most notably the beautiful dress the character Faye wears in her opening scene.
With such a strong reputation for gorgeous authentic vintage fashions, the Highlands Theatre Group asked Gillian to help with the Southern Highlands production of Ladies in Black the musical.
The musical is filled with lots of dancing and singing and, of course, fabulous fashion.
For those that want to take the experience one step further, the performance at 7:30pm on June 8 will be a dress up evening.
Gillian will judge the best 1959 vintage dressed man and woman on the night.
Visit www.htg.org.au for tickets.
The musical will be held on June 7, 8, 14,15, 21 and 22 at 7:30pm and on June 9, 16 and 22 at 2pm.
Tickets for the opening night are $25, other performances are $35 for adults and $30 concession with group discounts for 10 or more available.
