ZGenFM, formerly 2WYR, is a community youth radio station that aims to give the generation under 25 a voice.
Presenter, 15-year-old Zoe Brian, said that ZGenFM is the world's first Z generation station.
"We're here to be the voice of youth in the Highlands," Zoe said.
Zoe reached out to candidates in the upcoming federal election for the seat of Whitlam..
Three candidates responded in time and Zoe went out to speak with them on the campaign trail.
Zoe asked questions which covered the environment, youth mental health and the candidate's own taste in music.
Nationals candidate, Stephen Wentworth, said the most important issue facing youth in the Southern Highlands was being listened and talked to.
Greens candidate, James Dixon, said the two major issues facing youth were where to live and work.
"Our transition to renewables is basically aimed at creating 182,000 jobs throughout regional areas," Mr Dixon said.
"By decentralising power generation, we plan to create local employment and housing for the next generation."
Labor candidate, Stephen Jones, said the most important thing for young people in Australia was the need to feel there is a bright and exciting future for them.
"I want to remove the obstacles and provide the support to make sure they've got hope," Mr Jones said.
Zoe runs a show from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday evenings on 92.5FM.
