Council's General Manager Ann Prendergast explained that the draft 2019/20 Operational Plan and Budget included all the road works, building repairs, bridge renewals, footpath, drainage and stormwater construction activities that Council has committed to undertaking in the coming year.
"It also details some major infrastructure improvement projects we'll be carrying out including major upgrades to our sewage treatment plants, preliminary scoping on the proposed Regional Sports Hub in Moss Vale and a funding strategy for the operation of a Regional Art Gallery in Bowral," she said.
Late last year Councillors gave in-principle support to enable such a public facility and this document shows how and where Council will source the $2.5 million needed to ensure this eventuates.
"Included in our funding strategy is a proposal to raise half a million dollars each year over the next five years," Ms Prendergast said.
"However this means that some services will have to be reviewed in order to achieve this.
"We understand that such a proposal may cause apprehension which is why we have included full fact sheets on our website.
"These fact sheets provide greater detail on the proposed funding strategy and the impact this will have on current Council services."
The fact sheets and draft Plans can be accessed at www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au or at Council's Moss Vale Civic Centre and at Council's libraries.
"Council's annual Operational Plan and Budget is of Shire-wide importance and I encourage all interested residents to read our plans and comment on our proposed actions and allocations before the close of the exhibition period."
