Southern Highlands author, Caroline Erwin, has launched her debut novel entitled Between You, Me and the Gatepost.
The Picton resident's work is set in the picturesque town of Bundanoon and the bustling city of Sydney.
The novel follows the lives and stories of the three Southgate sisters - Brooke, Maggie and Tessa - as their year slowly unfolds into one they'll never forget.
A year full of family drama, forbidden romance, and moral dilemmas.
Perinatal depression and anxiety (PNDA) is a strong theme in the book.
PNDA affects parents before and after birth and refers to symptoms of anxiety and depression.
The mental health disorder affects one in five new mothers, and one in ten non-birth parents in Australia.
Approximately 100,000 new parents each year experience PNDA.
Caroline, mother of three beautiful children, has a strong connection with PNDA having experienced it herself.
Caroline felt compelled to incorporate the misunderstood disease into her novel to create greater-awareness around the topic.
She has also decided to donate 25 per cent of all profits to the Gidget Foundation, a NSW based not-for-profit organisation that provides support for parents who experience emotional distress.
The heart-warming novel Between You, Me and the Gatepost is available on Amazon, Booktopia and iBooks.
Visit gidgetfoundation.org.au for more information about perinatal depression and anxiety.
Call the PNDA helpline on 1300 726 306 for assistance or 000 in the case of an emergency.
