Win news reporter, Katie Gallagher, will hold a fundraiser at Sir Donald Bradman's childhood home to raise money for the Cancer Council NSW.
"Cancer awareness is something I am passionate about," Katie said.
Katie's best friend, Tessa Calder, passed away in 2016 from brain cancer.
Tessa was only 22 years old.
"It was a really heartbreaking experience for me," Katie said.
"I want to carry on her legacy.
"She was the most gifted, humble and kind individual. Tessa just wanted to help others."
Katie visited number 52 Shepherd Street earlier in the year and was hooked by the house's history.
"I have no interest in cricket but I found the house really interesting," Katie said.
"The history and story of the family blew me away."
Katie is also participating in the Stars of Wollongong Dance for Cancer to raise money for charity.
Katie has an overall fundraising goal of $5000 but hopes that she can raise over $1000 from the upcoming event.
The event will run over two days with scones in the garden and the opportunity to check out the famous tank shed stand where a young Sir Donald Bradman learnt his cricketing skills with a golf ball.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the house's extensive digital archives which hold over 3000 photographs, videos, oral histories, catalogues, periodicals, and documents dating back to the mid-19th century.
Number 23 Shepherd Street is a treasure trove of Australian domestic history and everyday life.
The house's archives are a step into an almost forgotten world and tell a vivid story of the young Don Bradman and his family's early life in Bowral.
"Whether you are a fan of cricket or not the house and even has something for everyone," Katie said.
This event is proudly sponsored by the Burrawang General Store, which will donate all food and drinks as well as $500 in cash to the Cancer Council.
Scones at Don's will be held on May 4 and 5 with various times available throughout the weekend.
