Operation Tortoise took effect from midnight April 18 to 11.59 pm April 22, with police targeting a range of offenses such as drink driving, not wearing a helmet or seatbelt, using a mobile while driving, speeding and driver fatigue.
Over the course of the operation, officers across the Southern Highlands and Goulburn breathalysed more than 7000 motorists, while 227 people were given an infringement notice for speeding.
A further 101 people were given infringement notices for other offenses, including using a mobile phone while driving.
This comes after data from the Centre for Road Safety showed road fatalities are up 12 per cent from the same time last year.
