The beloved Southern Highlands resident has committed her time, money and her heart to the rescue of geriatric animals.
Now she needs help.
With 25 dogs in care and eight more due to arrive by next weekend, Gina has appealed to the community for support.
"This is the worst time of year," Gina said.
"It''s breaking my heart."
On top of mounting vet bills, food costs and the emotional toll of caring for dogs not long for this world, Gina is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.
With multiple dogs in palliative care and more than $127,000 in vet bills last year, Gina needs the community to rally behind her.
"I try and do as much as I can but it has become increasingly difficult," Gina said.
Golden Oldies Animal Rescue is desperate for supplies, donations and foster carers.
The charity is in need of all things dog related which include flea treatments, blankets, food, toys and beds.
Gina's only provision is that she will not accept Baxter's brand of dog food as it is not good for the animals.
Golden Oldies rescue geriatric dogs from the pound and puppy farms as well as accepting surrendered animals.
Gina has been overwhelmed by the continual support from residents of the Southern Highlands region.
