Highlands Strings, a community orchestra for young early stage musicians, will perform at St Jude's Church.
The orchestra will showcase a variety of music styles.
The children worked hard in weekly rehearsals which focused on the technical foundations of playing a string instrument.
Students from Moss Vale, Mittagong, Bowral and Glenquarry public schools will perform on the night.
The conductor and music director of Highlands Strings, Elise Ali, believes that an encouraging orchestral environment is essential for young musicians.
Highlands Strings also provides the opportunity for its musicians to prepare for the Festival of Instrumental Music organised by the NSW department of education at the Sydney Opera House.
Librarian at Mittagong Public School, Mrs Gardiner, and Ms Ali have worked together to ensure that this opportunity is available to students from the region.
Highlands Strings will perform at St Jude's Church on April 4 at 7pm.
Tickets will be available at the door. Cost is $5 per person with children and students free.
