Whether you turned up to vote for the candidate in the red, blue or green shirt, or a democracy sausage for lunch lured you to the polls, many Highlanders chose to cast their vote on March 23.
Some voters chose to have their say early at the pre-polling centre on Main Street in Mittagong.
Any adult who didn't vote in the NSW election will be hit with a $55 fine.
According to the NSW Electoral Commission, people who were eligible to vote but didn't will be sent a Failure to Vote notice in the mail.
The notice calls for a reason as to why the recipient didn't vote or they must pay the penalty.
The notice must be responded to in writing with the reason the recipient did not vote.
However, not knowing the election is on is not considered a sufficient reason.
Southern Highland News journalist Matt Welch went to polling places across the Wingecarribee Shire to see how voters marked the day.
