Heavy rainfall is expected and may lead to flash flooding, with large, possibly giant hailstones and damaging winds to hit Berrima and Bundanoon.
The storm is expected to make landfall at 5:10 pm.
A spokesperson from Bureau of Meteorology said the storm cell is moving east, with the southern parts of Wingecarribee expected to cop the worst of it.
Residents are being warned to stay indoors and away from, move cars undercover, secure loose items, keep pets indoors, keep clear of creeks and storm water drains, stay away from fallen power lines, and to not drive or swim through flood water.
If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
